‘The Tortured Poets Department’ enthusiasts might just hit the jackpot. Taylor Swift’s followers are buzzing with speculation that the songstress is gearing up to drop a fresh single from her chart-topping album, and they reckon they’ve worked out which tune it’ll be.

Swifties have been swapping guesses on the web, putting forward a few choice tracks, with one in particular gaining traction. A Reddit query asking which song fans would prefer as a single release saw Swifties hinting that Taylor’s already been leaving clues about her selection.

One enthusiast remarked: “It certainly seems like she was teasing ‘Down Bad’ at the VMAs.” This observation garnered a huge number of likes, and a chorus of Swifties chimed in agreement.

Another devotee claimed: “‘Down Bad’ is the only correct choice,” and another pointed out: “The VMA dress says it all,” alluding to Taylor’s extraterrestrial-themed frock, which fans link to the song’s words, reports the Mirror. Swifties also reckon it’d be a smash hit of a music video. “The lyrical nods to an alien abduction could make for a really fun visual,” one fan mused.

Yet, this wasn’t the sole contender catching their eye. A different supporter proposed: “‘My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys’ or ‘Guilty as Sin? ‘ would be ace for the next single.”

Concurring, others penned: “‘Guilty as Sin? ‘ I think its imagery is very poetic” and “For sure My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys.” Another added: “‘Florida! ! ! ‘ Just because it definitely deserves to be,” while someone else offered: “Maybe unpopular opinion but Black Dog.”

One Swiftie recommended a unique option, saying: “‘Peter’ would make for a really bittersweet music video (just imagine seeing Taylor dressed like Wendy looking out the window as the seasons change until she finally turns off the light, but also like flashbacks of a younger couple to show them as kids).”

Another fan thought ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?’ would be a top pick, with another chiming in: “Perfect timing for Halloween coming up.”

Yet another strong contender that emerged among fans was: “‘But Daddy I Love Him’ is the only correct choice here sorry everybody.”
