Jon Bon Jovi has been praised after video footage shows him helping a woman to step away from the ledge of a bridge.
The rock music legend, 62, along with a woman, were seen persuading the woman to come to safety on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville, US, on Tuesday (10 September).
CCTV footage of the moment was later shared by The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on their social media.
According to Sky News, the singer was reportedly filming a music video on the bridge, which remained open to the public during the shoot.
In the footage, Bon Jovi can be seen walking towards the woman, where he begins conversing with her.
The woman then turned to face the two as they helped her over the railing to safety.
He is then seen hugging the unknown woman before they walk down the bridge together.
Taking to social media, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department praised the musician for his actions, writing on X: "A shout out to @jonbonjovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night.

Chief John Drake added: "It takes all of us to help keep each other safe."
Fans have also praised Bon Jovi for his role in helping the woman, as one person wrote: "An awesome dude doing awesome stuff. Good on him, and hopefully the person he talked down is getting the help they need."
While someone else quoted some of his lyrics from his hit song, 'Livin on a Prayer'.
Another added: "I hope this woman gets the support, love, and understanding she needs to heal. Thank goodness for angels here on earth."
And a fourth called him 'such a nice guy'.

Couple's gender reveal goes horrifically wrong on doorbell cam video

Smart doorbells come with a number of handy uses — from being able to answer the door from any room in your home to dealing with parcel deliveries when you’re not in.
But there's one particular model that's captured unexpected moments time and time again - and it recently captured a rather unexpected family moment.
The doorbell, from Ring, is one of the most popular models on the market and has currently got a whopping £30 off.
Let’s just say, the gender reveal in question didn’t exactly go to plan and it was all recorded on their doorbell for our viewing pleasure.
When Simon and Bronagh Laverty from Craigavon, Northern Ireland were getting ready to host their friends and family at their home to share whether they were expecting a baby girl or a baby boy, they enlisted the help of a balloon packed full of either pink or blue confetti to do so.
But, as the clip captured by their doorbell showcased, their balloon burst suddenly just as the father-to-be was walking out the front door of their home. And the telltale blue confetti that escaped from it spoiled the surprise for them prematurely.

Not only did Simon now know that he and his wife were expecting a baby boy but Bronagh also found out the gender in real time after receiving a motion detector alert from Ring on her phone.
Simon explained that his wife immediately called out to him, “What just happened?! Have we literally just found out what we’re having?”
He recalled that even though he was going through a number of different emotions after seeing the balloon pop, he was both happy and relieved to find out that his wife had seen the reveal as well.
Simon shared: “We look back at the video all the time, it gives us a laugh about what happened and how we found out. Catching it on camera was even more special than doing it in front of friends and family as we can keep and cherish it.”

He did, however, rush out to get a new balloon so as not to spoil the surprise for their closest friends and family.
“To be honest we had to play along with the whole thing and make sure no one else knew that we found out before the new balloon had popped, as we didn’t want to ruin the surprise for everyone else,” he affirmed.
The couple’s loved ones also found it incredibly funny after they eventually saw the clip.
As Simon and Bronagh were subscribed to one of Ring’s subscription plans, this meant that they could download, save and rewatch the footage for up to 180 days after the unexpected incident.
And the happy parents can’t wait to show their son Theo – who will be three in November – the video one day.
“It will be good for the wee man when he’s older to show him and say ‘This is how we found out what you were going to be'!” Simon told Ring.

It's an added bonus if the audience end up deciding to get behind your stunt though, just like what happened at Natasha Leggero's set at the Skyler Stone’s Comedy Rocks event in Los Angeles, US, last Wednesday (17 January).
The comedian, 49, stripped off after joining the stage in the hopes of making an important point to the crowd at the popular comedy club, Hollywood Improv, where the likes of David Spade and Tiffany Haddish were also performing.
Ahead of her set, shirt-hating stand-up star Bert Kreischer had warmed up the crowd and obviously pulled his trademark move while cracking some jokes - ripping off his top.

Wearing a faux fur coat, a white t-shirt and a pair of blue dungarees, the TV star began removing her multiple layers and tossed her jacket to a bloke in the front row.

The Manchester Fire Department, New Hampshire, believes the woman had been inside a bin which was picked up by a lorry on its standard route.
Stuck in the rubbish, the woman was dumped into the back of the vehicle and those nearby could hear her screams as she was compacted multiple times.
She was able to survive but suffered serious injuries, and her ordeal was only over after one of the bin lorry workers spotted her on a camera located in the back of the vehicle.
How she ended up in the bin of an apartment complex and how long she had been inside for are not known, with the emergency services called to help just before 1pm local time on Monday (29 January).

The woman was then taken to Elliot Hospital at around 1.30pm local time to be treated for her serious injuries, which are thought to include broken bones.
"She was in agony. All you heard was screaming," neighbour Amanda Czzowitz told local news outlet Boston 25, who also reported that the woman is a 60-year-old who is expected to survive.
"I can tell you that she was not an unsheltered individual, but as to why she was in there, we don’t know yet," Manchester fire chief Ryan Cashin told Manchester Ink Link.
He told them that, according to privacy regulations, the first priority was stabilising the woman's condition before uncovering further details.

South African student Sibongile Mani said she thought the money was 'a gift from God'
It’s not often that a payment error is made by your school which sees you becoming nearly a millionaire overnight.
But for one woman, it was the opportunity of a lifetime.
Would you give it back? Or would you go on a whopping spending spree?
Well, when Sibongile Mani, who attended the Walter Sisulu University (WSU) in South Africa checked her bank account to find that she’d been paid 14 million rands (which in 2017 was around £850,000).
Typically, the woman was meant to receive around £85 a month in the form of benefits from a government aid scheme to help her to pay for food and essentials, but this amount was one heck of a mistake.
However, even though it was an obvious error on their part, Mani decided to make the most of the opportunity by going on a huge shopping spree.
In the days after the money was deposited, Mani splashed the cash on designer clothes, the latest iPhone and expensive bottles of liquor.

She'd spent more than £50,000 of the money she received when she was finally caught through a bank receipt she left behind at a supermarket.
Samkelo Mqhayi, branch secretary of the South African Students Congress, told Herald Live at the time: "She was just suddenly spending so much. Her supermarket receipt which was leaked showed she had 13.6m rand in her account and she had been throwing parties for her friends and showering them with gifts without worry."
Mani was quickly reported to police, and she was arrested in 2017 and charged with theft and fraud.
It’s been a lengthy battle up until 2022, when she was sentenced to five years in prison.
But in the end, it was appealed after Mani claimed that she saw the money as a ‘gift from God’ and her sentence was suspended in 2023.
